Frequently Asked Questions

Who are we?

We are The Hive, a community workshop, and our mission is to provide access to tools, empower individuals in their use, engage in collective action, share skills, bolster community resilience, learn collaboratively, and play.

What kinds of tools will be available?

We are  equipped with prototyping and production equipment including 3D printers, a 3D scanner, 3D design workstations, a 3-axis CNC mill, two manual 3-axis mills, a metal lathe, soldering stations, industrial sewing machines and a variety of hand and power tools. We will also have additional equipment to be determined by space requirements, budgets, and member interest.

When will The HIVE open?

We are currently in a pre-launch phase. We will begin to be open for workshops in late 2022 and we hope to be fully operational in the first half of 2023.

How is it funded?

Initial funding for The HIVE was provided by the Progress Partnership in 2019.  We received additional funding through Greenfield Community College, as well as donations from many generous members of the community.

We rely on your donations to help us reach our goal!
